So…

I come home from work today, and I see a package on my doorstep. I’m not expecting anything (my remote control fart machine and fake poop arrived yesterday). I look at the return label on the package to try to decipher what it could be.

It’s a bit blurry, but it says:
Mrs. Doris Floribunda’s
Agricultural Emporium
Street of Cunning Artificers
Ankh Morpork

Excellent!

I open it and inside I find the following:

and two of these:

The slip reads:

Please accept this gift in memory of the
Glorious 25th of May
And those who died defending our rights to:
Truth, Justice, Freedom, Reasonably Priced Love
And
A Hard-Boiled Egg

We remember:
Horace Nancyball
Billy Wiglet
Reginald Shoe
Cecil “Snouty” Clapman
Dai Dickins
And
Sergeant-At-Arms John Keel

In case you are wondering what this is all about, read Night Watch.

May 25th is also towel day.

She sings like an angel!

Earlier today Mandy and I were playing Still Alive on rock band, me on drums and her on bass. We failed. So we tried it again, me on drums and her singing.

It was a triumph. We tried it with me on guitar and her on medium.

I’m making a note here: “Huge success”.

Zomg more sketches!

I made a few more sketches today…

The first is one I did with Mary Ann and Dusty.

The next is Bea.

And the last is Bea as a pirate.

I think I’m getting better at this. Bea’s tail was freehand and Mary Ann’s front right paw was reconstructed from her front left paw.

Sketches

Before I go to bed tonight, I wanted to post a few sketches I did. Yes, they’re traces of actual photos, but I think I captured the essence very well.

Here they are:

My first, Dylan Moran… (The cigarette wasn’t in the photo that I traced, ZOMG FREEHAND!)

Next I did Mandy.

Then I finished up with Sam.

Questions? Comments?

Mandy says I drew her too pretty.

I disagree, I held back.

New Year’s Resolution

I vow to post at least once a week for the rest of the future.

So, last Saturday I made a New Years resolution to “Finish this entire strawberry Fanta”. Surely this task would tax the minds and bodies of any normal human being. So of course I have failed. Looking back, this task was insurmountable. I am making a new new years resolution, to eat the following three flavors of jelly bean:

Success! Take that New Years!

In other news, I’m sure you all already know the following news, but here it is just in case. Twenty years ago tomorrow something very special happened. In order to celebrate that, Mandy and I are planning a get together at Yoshi’s (surprise Yoshi!) tomorrow after work. We’re bringing all 8 seasons and will be watching the best episodes. So come on by if you are a fan of science, chicken vindaloos, double polaroids, toast, little robots that go “miniminiminimini”, or Gelfs. Board games will be provided upon request.

But now, my Valentines day present has finished downloading. Time to try out the new map in Team Fortress 2.

Oh yes, one more thing.

Awesome!

Thanks to overtime’s $160 and newegg, within 3 buisiness days I will have over 1.5 Terabytes of usable storage inside my computer. I say usable because hard drives always lie about how much space they have. They say 1gb, but they really mean 1,000,000,000 bytes. In other words, my computer will have 1,647gb of real storage, but 1,770gb of advertised storage.

To answer your next question: No, It’s not porn. I don’t like deleting things, and I plan on downloading every episode of Doctor Who ever made, ever. I already have all of Tom Baker (58gb) and I’ll probably work on the earlier doctors next… once my seeding ratio on TheBox has gone above 0.8. That means I’ll need to have uploaded 80% of what I have downloaded by the 11th, i.e. 66gb by Monday – only 3.8gb to go!

In other news I have work tomorrow, probably until 6, but still have plans to attend gamenight on both nights.

Any board game requests?

A post, 5 years in the making.

A few hours ago, after much deliberation on her part, Mandy and I broke up.

This is not a joke, as there is nothing funny about it. Looking back on those 5 years with these new unfiltered eyes it is readily apparent why. Mandy and I never really went beyond the second date. For five years we were still at that point, and eventually it became stale and it just slipped into daily routine. For the majority of our relationship we were basically best friends who just happened to kiss, sleep in the same bed, and live together. I wish her all the best luck and hopefully we can maintain our best friend status. I expect it will be awkward for a while, but after that all passes I look forward to a continued friendship with her.

I though I would be more heartbroken over this, and maybe I’m in shock, but I feel surprisingly relieved. I have taken a few days off of work to figure things out, Mandy is staying at Mike’s for a while too. Who knows, maybe I’ll make an appearance at gamenight.

That is all. Looking back at it, it’s quite a depressing end to my livejournal posting hiatus.

Feel free to add your condolences, advice, or, in the event of you being a single, attractive, intelligent, funny female, your screename and/or phone number.
